They Want A Death Star

The Death Star is a fictional weapon in the world of Star Wars, capable of destroying an entire planet in seconds. It was the project of an Empire that spanned the galaxy, corrupted by power, greed, and hate. The weapon was used to oppress and obliterate resistance against it. The construction of the Death Star was kept secret from the Empire's population, built on slave labour, genocide, unsustainable energy sources, and ecocide.

In the time it entered the public discourse, the Death Star represented the ultimate outcome of the cold-war arms race. As multiple world superpowers had the capacity to kill everyone on earth multiple times, the promise of mutually assured destruction had locked the world in a stalemate. Who would be crazy enough to pull the trigger first? Military superiority was measured in numbers of atomic bombs, not technological capability. If only there was a weapon that could go above and beyond. If only there existed a weapon that could promise unilaterally assured destruction. If only there were a Death Star.

Today, the world is again entering into an arms race. This is being driven by a small number of people who portend to want to protect us. In reality, they want to boost their macroeconomic indicators, accumulate power, and facilitate the transfer of wealth from public coffers to private hands. By convincing workers that they should be worked under harsher and harsher conditions to serve their country and keep them safe, they can deregulate industries. By selling our future into state loans which we will be forced to pay back in blood. By using their capital to sell unsustainable technologies into an unsustainable industry in order to turn a profit. To gather power into the hands and benefit of the few. Here, we highlight some of the people using their precious time on earth to make it hell for the rest of us.

The EU is in an economic crisis. Decades of austerity, a pumping of public funds into private hands and a total absense of investment in an ecological future and social security have left industries running on fumes, and left its status as a relevant international player an idea of the past. In its death throes, the EU is seeking to boost its economy the only way it knows how - by appealing to fear and desperation in order to squeeze the last drops from its workers. The EU is going all in on Military Keynsianism, benefitting those who want to profit from death, at the expense of all peoples around the world.

The ReArm Europe plan (following criticism, it was renamed Readiness 2030, but this was the only change) permits European countries to altogether take out 800 Billion Euroes in foreign debt to fund militarisation. This public money, permitted by public debts which had been denied for funding social spending or a green economy, will flow directly into the hands of European, American, and Israeli military contractors. It will go towards weapons systems, munitions, and personell who will safeguard the private profits of Europe around the world. The materials for these weapons systems and munitions will be sourced from the mines of countries whose democratically elected governments were overthrown by western interests. Workers in the global south will lose their lives in mines where democratic oversight and workers rights, granted to European workers, are all but a dream.

This plan is the brainchild of President of the European Commission Ursula van der Leyen (DE:CDU), former Defence Minister of Germany. She knows full well the consequences of this plan for the environment, and the profit it will generate for her country's heavy industry. The German economy, built upon the automotive industry, is crumbling. Having put all their eggs into an unsustainable, petroleum-based industry that now faces competition from electric cars in China, they need a new golden egg. The military industrial complex is the solution of their dreams - it uses petroleum, heavy materials, manufacturing, and cheap labour. If the Death Star were a realistic weapon - She would want to build one.

NATO is an instrument of geopolitical power. It was formed following the second world war to keep United States security and economic interests a top European priority, and to exclude the Soviet Union. Today, it serves as a self-fulfilling prophecy, justifying its own existence by creating geopolitical instability from which they need to save us.

Mark Rutte is the Secretary General of NATO, previously the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, who presided over a racist social fraud programme the revelation of which caused the collapse of the government. Today, in his new role, he is responsible for stoking fear such that all countries agree to follow the United State's proposal for a 5% GDP of NATO spending. His servility to power is sickening, and reveals his lack of personal values; He is very good at his job. He will do anything and everything to achieve what is demanded of him.

According to him, Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea are just waiting at the chance to invade Europe and make us into slaves of the CCP. He claims that Russia will stoop to the service of China, invading Europre to distract us from the Chinese takeover of Taiwan. If the interests of NATO were really to protect Europe, Ukraine, or Taiwan, this is betrayed by their actions. The continued exclusion of Russia, the encroachment of NATO on Russian territories, the total abandonment of Hong Kong, and the continued EU purchase of Gas from Russia that keeps their war economy turning undermine any security promises of NATO, and Rutte knows this. His only choice is to stoke irrational, unfounded fear, and bring his NATO allies towards more capacity for Death. The fantastical possibilities of a Death Star are the climax of his wet dreams.
